CELINA, TEXAS - The Celina City Council today announced the approval of the contract for new City Manager Robert Ranc, following a robust nationwide search. Ranc, who presently serves as Deputy City Manager in the City of Dublin, Ohio, has served in municipal leadership capacities in Ohio, Utah, and Texas. Prior to public administration, Ranc served in the United States Air Force for six years as a Persian-Farsi linguist. After his military service, he earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in public administration, both from Brigham Young University.
"I am thrilled to welcome Robert Ranc as the next Celina City Manager," said Celina Mayor Ryan Tubbs. "Of all the candidates reviewed by the council, Ranc had the broadest experience in public service and presented himself in such a way that he seemed to be the best fit with Celina's vision and values. I look forward to welcoming him and his family home to Celina, Texas, around the first of the year."
Ranc's lifelong passion for public service is seen in his service to his country and to the communities in which he has worked. He held positions in public service in the cities of Lehi and Ogden, Utah, and in Burleson, Texas, before moving to Dublin. Ranc has experience in several forms of local government, and his civic leadership experience includes executive oversight of development services, economic development, public works, parks and recreation, information technology, human resources, and fire departments.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the City of Celina as City Manager, and my family and I are excited to be part of such a dynamic and growing community,” said newly-appointed Celina City Manager Robert Ranc. "Celina presents opportunities and challenges not only with issues such as land use and infrastructure development, but it also provides the opportunity to build and grow an organization that is recognized for its commitment to excellence and a high-performing, supportive culture that attracts the quality of professionals necessary to help Celina reach its potential."
Ranc officially begins his service as Celina City Manager on January 8, 2024.
