Hillwood’s newest master-planned community broke ground Thursday morning at the northwest corner of CR 84 and FM 1461. The President of Hillwood Communities, Fred Balda, was present along with the four Wells sisters, whose family has owned the land since before the Civil War. Mayor Sean Terry and Mayor Pro Tem Chad Anderson, along with Councilman Bill Webber, Councilwoman Carmen Roberts, and Councilwoman Mindy Koehn, were also among the many present. The first phase of homes will be completed in Spring 2017. The 400-acre tract will feature 1,250 single-family homes with resort-style amenities.
