City Council candidate qualifications
- Be a United States citizen (Texas Election Code)
- Be at least 21 years of age (Celina City Charter)
- Be a qualified voter of the City of Celina (Celina City Charter)
- Be a resident of Texas and the city for at least twelve (12) months immediately preceding election day (Texas Election Code / Celina City Charter)
- Hold no other position in another elective public office, or otherwise provided by the Texas Constitution (Celina City Charter)
- Not have been determined by a final judgement of a court to be totally mentally incapacitated, or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote (Texas Election Code)
- Not have been finally convicted of a felony or if so convicted, have been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities (Texas Election Code)
