About the Celina Junior Police Academy

The Celina Junior Police Academy is a program designed specifically for middle school students who have a keen interest in law enforcement and community service. Our goal is to provide participants with an interactive and educational experience that fosters a better understanding of the role of law enforcement officers in our community. The program runs Monday through Thursday, 8am to 4pm. After students have completed the academy, there will be a small graduation for their family and friends to see all of their accomplishments.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Information on the Celina Police Department

As a participant in the Junior Police Academy, you will have the unique opportunity to learn all about the Celina Police Department. Through engaging presentations and discussions, you'll gain valuable insights into various aspects of police work, including community policing, crime prevention strategies, and the different divisions within the department.

 Training from Police Officers

Our dedicated police officers will serve as instructors and mentors throughout the academy. They will provide expert training sessions, sharing their knowledge and experiences with you. From learning about basic patrol procedures to exploring crime scene investigations, you'll receive hands-on training that will give you a taste of what it's like to be a police officer.

Building Relationships

At the Celina Junior Police Academy, we believe in the importance of building strong relationships between law enforcement and the community. Through various team-building activities, you will have the opportunity to interact with our officers on a personal level, fostering mutual respect, understanding, and trust.

 Scenario-Based Training

To enhance your learning experience, we will conduct scenario-based training exercises. These exercises will allow you to apply the knowledge and skills you have learned in a simulated real-world environment. You'll get a firsthand understanding of how law enforcement officers handle different situations and make critical decisions.

 Fun and Engaging Activities

While the academy focuses on learning and training, we also make sure to include fun and engaging activities throughout the program. These activities may include taking a ride in the MRAP, physical fitness challenges, and team-building games. We believe that learning should be enjoyable, and we strive to create a positive and exciting environment for all participants.
